Pride (プライド) – Episode 2 to Last Episode (+ Extra )

I’m not doing a recap of each episode : it takes way too long for me, and it would just make you want to read them and that would suck all the fun out of it (trust me, I can’t help but read Dramabeans’ recaps of Hong Gil Dong and it just isn’t fun after when you watch it b/c you know what’s gonna happen).
I’m just going to say it was a great drama (loved it, it changes so much of the k-dramas I was relieved there was a different storyline) . The end made me dance out of contempt and I went nuts everytime Takuya Kimura appeared on the screen (fangirl, and proud of it).
If you are wondering whether not you’re going to watch it, well, read the above, go fangirl (even if you’re a guy, you can enjoy one’s awesomeness, right?) and watch the 11 episodes.
If you don’t like hockey or one of the actors, then don’t. You’ll miss out your life and die a painful death. Cheers.
The Extra? Links to watch it english subbed and streaming (no download nor registration required). Click on “Continue Reading” to see them.

WGA Strike Update
Question: I hear that the strike is over! Is it true?— Danouk
Ausiello: Nothing’s official, but the buzz is that a tentative agreement has been reached, with an announcement coming as early as tomorrow. But it’s hard to tell what’s solid intel and what’s just spin. To wit: In the past 24 hours, one source close to the negotiations insisted that talk of a resolution was way premature. “There’s no deal,” maintained my spy. “That’s just misinformation put out by the AMPTP to pressure the WGA.” But moments before I put this column to bed, I heard from another very plugged-in source that the deal is done. Short story shorter: There’s cause for optimism, but not celebration. Yet.

What happened at school?
I’m just gonna do it to entertain myself (and those who have the courage to read it). I’ll recap what happened this last two day to my classmates in a gossip girl kind of way.
So, P and J(boy) broke up after 4 months. Why? P cheated on J(boy) with some guy for a night, leading J(boy) to hate P.
J(boy) however promessed P he would tell her if he were to have an other girlfriend, which made P happy ’cause she still loves him.
This morning, J(girl) and J(boy) were spotted holding hands on the way to school to P’s despair: J(boy) once again lied to her.
P is now launching a vendetta on J(girl), and asking all her friends (me included) to ignore her.
S is still going out with B’s ex , C (he broke up with B on their 1rst year anniversary), who hasn’t shaved yet.
We have no news on L(boy) and P(other P girl), they might have broken up since we saw L and B(another B) getting kinda closer.
And S(boy) got ditched by his unknown girlfriend (who apparently liked his best friend more) .
Well, well, no bright and shinny future in sight for anyone…

French Politicians Suck Big Time.
First, we got Sarkozy fooling around everywhere with his girlfriend. I do not care that much, as long as it doesn’t concern me, but it just ain’t right for a president to go all playboy and to make magazines covers for his sex life rather than his politcal actions.
But right now, something awfully unbearable happened. The so-called secretary of culture , Mrs Albanel (on the pic), just screwed with all of us french downloaders, and WE are angry.
Sure, downloading songs, movies, games…that’s illegal, but what, when you’re a 17 years old student, you don’t have a credit card, no job, how are you gonna pay for downloading songs like in iTunes? How are you gonna pay for a CD that you won’t even be able to listen to on your computer? Like when it’s 10 pm. , you just need that song right away, are you gonna run to the closest store to put $20 in a CD when all you want is one song?
Geez.
So that so-called secretary of culture (who btw is supposed to help ppl communicate with technologies, and make culture available for everyone) just passed a law forbidding downloading (we already had few, but, everyones does it, so…), only that time it’s different: one download, you got a warning letter. You keep up? you pay a fee. Still not getting it? You don’t have internet anymore. It’s like being banned from IRC, for like, months!!!
The previous guy in charge was incompetent and sucked, but he had the quality of being harmless. But Albanel, who transformed the Versailles Castle into an attraction park, is clearly as incompetent and as fucked up, completely recognizes being the lobbyists’ little pet. Welcome to SarkoLand.

WGA Strike to be over before the Oscars?
The strike has gone on for several months now, and while there is no definitive news on when it will end, me thinks there is hope! With new individual deals being struck almost every day (Marvel, Lionsgate and RKO studios are the latest) and talks between the WGA and AMPTP resuming earlier this week, the writers on the picket lines at Fox Studios in Los Angeles seem reinvigorated by their efforts.
