As many of you may know, this is the period of the year when pilots for TV shows a popping up everywhere like mushrooms, leaked or not.
So far, I saw pilots for:

It’s new, entertaining, great. It’s also predictable, but it didn’t matter that much to me. I really enjoyed it! Also, some say it kinda looks like Burn Notice, or Hustle, but I didn’t watch any of those, so…

And yet another lawyer drama. As I usually don’t watch that kind of show so it felt new to me, but if you are usually watching stuff like Boston Legal, you might not like it. Anyway, I thought it was nice, a little bit centered on one character, but I’d like to see how this show evolves.

Baaad. I stopped watching after 8 minutes. It’s the wannabe-funny kind of sitcom where you hear ppl laughing, so you don’t understand a frakking word the actors say. And it’s not even funny. I’ll pass.

If you consider transsexuals to be freaks, you should pass. Otherwise, if you’re open minded like me, this show is original and well done, sometimes funny, even though it’s quite disturbing (the dude pretends to buy underwear for his wife, and he wears it himself…). Anyway, I’m not sure whether I’ll watch it or not, because it was kinda slow .

Really not my type of show. It’s documentary like, but if you’re into oil, you might wanna watch ’cause you’re going to learn things about backfire and such… I’ll pass.

A remake of the BBC series. Not sure it was necessary, because I heard the original was great. But for I did not watch the original, I’d say it was okay.

It’s a lot like Men in Black, minus the action. And it’s totally cheesy and silly. You like it or you don’t, and i don’t.

This is J.J Abrams material. This is pure awesomeness! I was glued to my screen the whole time! It reminds me of Lost a bit (a plane, a larger truth), but man this is good. I can’t wait for the second episode!

This is HBO material: expect nudity (three sex scenes in the pilot alone -_- ) . I found it utterly boring, and the lead actress was annoying and got on my nerves with her fake and exaggerated accent (and her teeth). The only good thing was the vampire, who looked dark, twisty, and handsome. Give me those 45 minutes of my life back!

Each episode is a new story. And horror creeps me out. I’m not watching this if I want to sleep at night. But if you’re a fan of horror movies, this is for you.

Uhu, I was bored halfway, but a lot of people liked it.

Ooo you’ve seen a bunch of them. I’ve never heard of any of these. Some of those seem really interesting..but a bunchh of those seem really crazy…. haha

I strongly suggest you take a look at Fringe, because I want to know what you think of it!

I am avoiding la tele like a crazy person (doesn’t say much when I soak up my share of the drama poison via the nets) but sometimes pilots can be misleading. I remember the Buffy pilot being really, really bad. And look how the seasons picked up after that.
Then again, NA TV seems to be a hit or miss kind of thing. (I think, from your list, that I’ll stick to time-tried classics like Smallville – gone sadly down the drain – and Gossip Girl – my one guilty TV pleasure.)

Ahhh, Gossip Girl… Why did they have to kill Dan and Serena?
I totally agree with you, pilots can be misleading, but based on spoilers, the cast and the crew, you can pretty much have an idea of how it’s going to be. And I didn’t watch Buffy.
And I don’t really like watching TV either (except from House, because I need it to be in french to understand all the medical stuff), so I download all the US TV shows that I watch, this way, I don’t get commercials, I can watch them anytime… Basically, for me it’s like dramas without having to wait for subs, so I do watch a lot of series because it’s easy and I’m often bored and/or looking for smthg to distract me from school.
Speaking of subs, I’m still stuck at ep 4 of Iljimae, the subs for the first ep of Gourmet is not out yet…

Apparently the original books were about how fighting for Nate nearly destroyed Blair and Serena (who have one of the most dysfunctional best-friendships in the universe), so yeah, Dan and Serena, and actually Chuck and Blair, had to go. Next season, expect the catfighting to begin. (Though things weigh heavily on S’s side for now.)
Aww, Buffy was such mindless entertainment. It was clever for you. (In certain spots. In others, things were pretty sucky.)
Lol, really? I can’t download too much or it’s bad for the internet plan, but that much TV would destroy my soul. Wait. Maybe it already has.
