No, it’s not a physical injury.

The last time we all saw Park Shi Hoo (Iljimae’s step brother/enemy/ally/rival/whatever) he had grown a little beard and was teaching kung fu to pandas children on a remote island .

But while doing my daily check on dramabeans.com, I had a vision of horror, the kind you can’t scrub out of your brain. The angst ridden , super intelligent leader of CSI:Chosun, modeling for Andre Kim.

WHY? WHY DID I SEE THOSE PICTURES??? It totally destroyed all the sexiness out of him. I mean, the first “dress” looks like those figure skating clothes that are shiny and transparant, and the second outfit would be ok without the  boots. It’s just horrible! What’s next for Andre Kim? Is he going to make the next model wear clear heels or what?

My thoughts on Iljimae’s ending…

M.I.A – Paper Planes (I just love the chorus)

The subs were out last week, and I kept pushing back the moment to watch the last episode because the fear of disapointment, angst and depression was too big. Eventually I got bored and watched it yesterday night, hugging a pillow, with kleenex and chocolate around just in case the PD pulled a HGD on us again. No seriously, it was really traumatizing. Plus, I heard that there was not enough time to make the ending, I saw that sevenses wrote a long entry (well, not that long compared to some other entries, heehee) on Iljimae’s ending (I did not read it, ’cause I didn’t wanted to be spoiled). So before watching the episode I was expecting a complete disaster and a lifetime of doom.

Then I watched the episode.

Then I was so happy I jumped around in my room while screaming in a high pitched tone (I tend to do that a lot when happy). Seriously, when Iljimae was killed/wounded by Chun Ah (creepy assassin) it did feel like impending doom and had I not see there were ten minutes left, I would have broke down in tears, hating the crew, the cast and Korea. Then there was the “4 years later”. That was sort of risky, because not every director knows how to make a good jump in time, and it’s more appropriate, I think, when it’s supposed to end a season (see Desperate Housewives) with a cliffhanger. I was really panicked on whether Iljimae was DOA (shaking my pillow, screaming “MAIS PUTAIN IL EST MORT OU PAS?”[a translation would be inapropriate]), but still got the little jokes (the TODAW and the King And The Clown references). The kid was cute, seeing Bong Soon broke my heart (it felt like time had stopped for her since Iljimae died/was wounded/disappeared and she looked sad and all… she deserved a better ending… I wish she went with the shoemaker, he was cute, with his dreadlocks… Gna. But I’m uber glad she’s alive) I’m happy that Danee and Geomee’s mom are friends and raising Kedong together, and that Bong Soon’s “dad” had a teddy bear look when he’s not evil (Santaaaaaaaaaaaaaa). Servant girl and Gang dude are cute together with a baybee and I don’t care much for Eun Chae since she didn’t even kiss the poor Iljimae/Yongee/Geomee goddbye when she left for Jeju island to become the leader of the beggar sect or something like that kekeke. Then we saw that Iljimae was alive and well and robbing the palace of the crazy king.

Overall, I’m very very *very* happy with the ending, I think the use of the first scene (from ep 1) was a great way to end the drama and I’d like to congratulate everyone who worked on this drama, because it rocked my socks from the bottom to the top!

I am now waiting for the next Iljimae !!! I hope it’s as good as this one!!!

* East of Eden premieres the 25th… I’ve got super high expectations but am fearing disapointment (star studded, high budget, 50 episodes…) Advienne que pourra.

*The movie “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” won’t see the light of day ’til next summer (2009). And here I was, waiting for it to go out in november… Apparently it was done to make the gap between the 6th movie and the 7th smaller… Good luck with that.

*Does anyone have a iMac (the new generation, with intel core 2 Duo) with VMware Fusion on it? Because I got it for my Mac, but i’m not sure if it will work the way the ad said… Can I really open PC’s applications on my Mac with that? Like if I download GomPlayer for PC on my Mac, can run it?

Lastly, please try not to mind grammar mistakes and such, I’m tired and drank a bit, so…
